About the The Gospel In Black and White Podcast

HAVING FUN WITH THE GOSPEL

Sometimes it helps to get to know the background of the people who are talking since it could give you some insights into their thought patterns. We hope you get to know that we like to have fun almost as much as we love the good lord. Read below to get to know us, Cody and Lenny – Podcasters from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – a little bit better. We’d also love to hear about you and your stories! Please feel free to reach out to The Gospel In Black and White podcast through our message form on the Contact page.

LENNY "K-BAR" ESCOBAR

Lenny is the “black” half of the In Black and White Show. He is from Elko, Nevada and currently lives in Utah. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Boise State University. That being said, he is always into something musical, whether it be playing his beloved saxophone, singing and humming incessantly, or creating sounds on the piano and computer to use in of his pieces of music. He’s currently finishing a master’s in Film Music Composition. He also has a passion for teaching and working on cars, particularly older BMWs.

Lenny joined the Church in his “later years” being baptized at age 19. He served a mission to Pittsburgh a year and a half later where he met “his father in the wilderness” and the groundwork of the The Gospel In Black and White was laid through their experiences.

CODY "LAVA" MOULTON

Cody and Chelsea and Finley

Cody is who you would call the “white” guy on the show. He grew up in Kaysville, Utah, and is currently living in Orem with his wonderful wife, Chelsea, and their baby girl, Finley. He graduated from Utah Valley University studying Web Development. He has a passion for music (drums especially), particularly rock, and is always creating music. He loves writing lyrics, creating videos, recording music, and reading Brandon Sanderson books in his hammock with his wife.

Cody grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He considered himself a bit of a punk until he attended seminary in 9th grade. Due to the great efforts of his seminary teacher at that time (and future ones) and the diligence of his mother, he came to know that Jesus Christ is his savior who loves him. He later served his mission in 2011 in Pittsburgh, PA (hence the images of that beautiful city across the website) where he met Lenny who became his “firstborn in the wilderness of his mission.”
